Plans, Schedules, Arrangements

Plans made over a month ago. Schedules cleared and set. Things arranged.

So much to do to prepare to get away.

Tickets reserved, rooms booked. Errands run.

Alternate plans for college girl to get a ride back home after finals. Sad I’ll miss her arrival.

Fridge cleared of foods that will spoil.

Cars moved around and garage door openers exchanged.

Mail pick up scheduled.

Neighbor will get the paper.

I can’t make it to pick her up. She won’t be done til Friday afternoon. Leaving Saturday morning … early.

Trash out.

Quick run to Rite-Aid for a last minute item.

Keys left with a trusted friend for the college kid who will arrive home while mom is away.

Still need to pack a bag, set the morning alarm.

Then a text:    “I’m coming home tonight.”

Wait, what? “When?”

“2 hours”

SMILES!  She’ll be here in two hours! I get to see her before I go after all!

Still much to do in the short minutes before she arrives.  Post this blog. Day 18.

Better hurry. Must get the bag packed and be ready to greet her. I want a little time with her before I go!

Pack the bag. Put away the shoes. Always so many shoes at week’s end. What am I missing?
