The Beautiful Truth in Song

A life long friend shared this song along with her heartfelt words, “This reminds me of us”.

The sentiment spoke to years of caring and connection mixed with growth and on occasion, hurt feelings … of mistakes and missteps.

How do we move beyond injury?  How do friends remain friends for the long haul?

It’s all about repair.

It is all about

repair.

This is true too of sisters, colleagues, and mentors.

If we cannot move in and around difficulties, we cannot grow. We cannot achieve our potential. We cannot reach our best.

Truth is – we can.

I have been reading Lean In by Sheryl Sandburg lately along with colleagues, a genuine learner of a man, and my long time mentor and friend. The result? Compelling conversations. Sharing. Reflection. Support for one another. Each of us daring to begin to lean into our careers, relationships, lives. What a gift to have opportunity to meet in community and grow alongside others who have your back.

This post is written in gratitude for the women and the exceptional men who care enough to speak up, to share, to care, to be all in.

  1. What a great group of women to be in community with and live life together, supporting each other. Sounds like a positive book that leads to great conversation. Thanks for sharing.

BTW: I corrected your links on the TWT blog. Yesterday, you linked an incorrect page and today you seemed to forget the link. Or I’m wondering if you just posted really late last night/early today. You are in working order now! 🙂

I had not heard of Lennon and Maisey, they are wonderful – thank you for that alone. You are indeed fortunate to have such such meaningful connections in your personal and professional lives.
